Albert University was founded to provide continuing education leading to a doctorate degree in the fields of hypnotherapy (Doctor of Clinical Hypnotherapy- DCH) and the alternative healing arts (Doctor of Alternative Healing- DAH).

Prior to founding Albert University, other similar programs for continuing education in these fields were identified and reviewed in order to develop a program that would meet and surpass that which was already available. We believe that Albert University’s program meets the needs of those wishing to identify themselves as experts in their chosen field of hypnotherapy or alternative healing, and by virtue of completion of the program, and the awarding of the doctoral degree, projects this expertise to colleagues, clients, and the general public.

We understand that practitioners in the fields of hypnotherapy and alternative healing are fighting an uphill battle with the academic world. The fact that we have built criteria and curricula to fulfill the needs of our practitioners in a way that the general academia can relate, creates a validation which affords our graduates expertise and grants them the recognition that they deserve. It is apparent that only by creating new institutions dedicated to specialization in hypnosis, hypnotherapy, and alternative healing, can we attract that recognition from others.

Albert University has contracted a faculty dedicated to teaching and motivating our students to fully achieve their educational goals and objectives. This faculty is dedicated to the belief that effective learning can be derived by a combination of instructional delivery systems, including classroom, independent study, practicum and thesis, and such learning, combined with intellectual integrity, inevitably leads to professional excellence necessary to advance the fields of hypnotherapy and alternative healing. In addition, Albert University also provides its students with the opportunity to learn from an array of outstanding professionals who are listed as Approved Trainers. Workshops conducted by these Approved Trainers qualify for credits towards a DCH or DAH and offer the student another choice in curriculum planning.

As we grow, we shall continue to evolve in order to provide our students with the best education possible.
 
     
       
 
Barry Seedman, Ph.D., founder and president of Albert University, received his Doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy in 1997, Dr. Seedman has dedicated his life to the study of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and its place among the healing arts. He has trained thousands of students in an effort to spread the safety and efficacy of this long misunderstood modality.

Dr. Seedman has won almost every major award in his field, including the National Guild of Hypnotists’1993 Instructor of the Year, the International Association of Counselors and Therapists’ 1995 Therapist of the Year, and the International Network For Alternative & Intuitive Therapies’ 1997 Educator of the Year. He has published over 100 articles on the subject and is author of the renowned self-help book "Guaranteed to Win!"
